The History of 88ami — Building Bangladesh's Most Trusted Online Casino

From a small idea in Dhaka to a platform trusted by hundreds of thousands of players nationwide — this is the 88ami story.

Where It All Began

88ami was born out of a straightforward observation: millions of sports fans and casino enthusiasts across Bangladesh had no reliable, locally adapted platform to play on. Payment methods were awkward, customer support was unavailable in Bangla, and withdrawal times were painfully slow. A group of experienced iGaming professionals, many of them based between Dhaka and Chittagong, set out to fix that.

The founding team understood the Bangladeshi market intimately — from the passion for cricket betting during BPL and IPL seasons, to the importance of instant deposits via bKash and Nagad. The platform was designed mobile-first from day one, because in Bangladesh, the phone is the primary screen. That decision turned out to be the right one.

The 88ami Timeline

Here is how 88ami grew from concept to one of Bangladesh's most recognised online gaming destinations.

Year 1 — Foundation

Platform Launch & Mobile-First Architecture

88ami went live with a focused product: cricket betting, slots from Pragmatic Play and Spribe's Aviator crash game. The platform accepted bKash and Nagad from the first day, and the interface was optimised for Android devices widely used in Dhaka and Sylhet. Early users praised the fast withdrawal process — a rarity at the time.
Year 2 — Growth

Live Casino & BPL Season Betting Surge

88ami added a full live casino suite powered by Evolution Gaming and Ezugi, bringing games like Lightning Roulette, Andar Bahar, and Dragon Tiger to Bangladeshi players for the first time on a locally accessible platform. The BPL season brought an enormous traffic spike — thousands of users from Chittagong, Rajshahi, and Khulna registered during T20 match days.
Year 3 — Trust

SSL Security, KYC Overhaul & Rocket Integration

Responding to user feedback, 88ami invested heavily in security infrastructure. End-to-end SSL encryption was implemented across all transaction pathways. A streamlined KYC process was introduced — verifiable within minutes rather than days — which built trust among cautious new players across Barisal and Rangpur. Rocket and Upay were added as payment options to broaden access.
Year 4 — Expansion

Sports Betting Expansion & Bangladesh Tigers Coverage

88ami expanded its sportsbook to cover football, kabaddi, and basketball alongside cricket. Coverage of Bangladesh Tigers international fixtures, ICC World Cup tournaments, and the IPL became a centrepiece. Live in-play betting was introduced with real-time odds updated in Bangladesh Standard Time (BST, UTC+6), giving players in Mymensingh and Cox's Bazar the same experience as those in Dhaka.
Year 5 — Today

500,000+ Players & Ongoing Innovation

Today, 88ami serves over 500,000 registered players across Bangladesh. The platform continues to add new game titles from Microgaming and NetEnt, introduce seasonal promotions around Eid, Pohela Boishakh, and the T20 World Cup, and improve payout speeds. The 88ami team remains committed to responsible gaming, with clear 21+ age verification and self-exclusion tools available to every registered user.

Built for Bangladesh, by People Who Understand It

88ami was never a foreign product retrofitted for Bangladesh. The founders understood that players in Dhaka juggle mobile data plans, that someone in Sylhet might prefer depositing ৳500 at a time rather than ৳5,000, and that a cricket fan in Chittagong wants odds updated before the first ball is bowled. Every product decision reflects those local realities.

Payment flexibility has always been a cornerstone of the 88ami experience. From day one, the platform has supported bKash and Nagad — the two most-used mobile financial services in Bangladesh. Over time, Rocket, Upay, and international card options like Visa and Mastercard were added to ensure nobody is left without a convenient deposit method, whether they are in urban Dhaka or rural Mymensingh.

The Values That Define 88ami

Security & Fair Play
All transactions are protected by SSL encryption. Games use certified RNG (Random Number Generator) systems so every outcome is fair and independent.
Fast Payouts
Withdrawal requests are processed promptly. Most bKash and Nagad payouts are completed within minutes, not hours — something players across Khulna, Barisal, and Rangpur have consistently praised.
Cricket at the Core
Cricket is not just a sport in Bangladesh — it is a shared passion. 88ami treats cricket betting as its flagship offering, with in-depth BPL, T20 World Cup, and IPL coverage, live odds, and match-day promotions.

21+ 88ami is an adult platform intended for players aged 21 and above only. Underage gambling is strictly prohibited. If you or someone you know may have a gambling problem, please visit the Responsible Gaming page for support tools and self-exclusion options.

Looking Ahead — The 88ami Road Map

88ami is not standing still. The team is continuously working on new features — including a dedicated VIP programme for high-volume players, expanded kabaddi and football markets ahead of major South Asian tournaments, and enhanced promotional campaigns timed around Eid, Durga Puja, and the ICC calendar. Every update is informed by direct feedback from the player community across Bangladesh.

The foundation built over the past five years — a fast mobile platform, trusted local payments, deep cricket coverage, and a genuine commitment to player safety — gives 88ami a strong base to keep growing. For Bangladeshi players who have been with 88ami from the beginning, and for those just discovering it today, the best chapters of this story are still being written.
